6 weeks in - All Good
Hi all,
Six weeks completed, hard to believe, so much has happened. We have settled in really well and are enjoying living in Sydney. We have a nice rental in Ryde, my commute to work is a bit long, but the ferry is very relaxing! Our dog is out of quarantine and does not seem to have been affected by the experience at all. Lovely having him home. We were very lucky to find a rental quickly, managed to spot a place on Domain they day it was put up, landlord did it without an agent and we managed to get the first viewing. house is great, nothing fancy, but very comfortable and feels like home already. Biggest concern is money, we knew things were not going to be cheap and it really is like starting over.....lots of costs associated with services, car, insurance etc. I though I had done plenty of homework before we came, but the rehave been lots of things I did not account for. Hopefully things will settle down soon. J |

We had heaps of trouble with our 15 year old girl when we went to Perth 4 years ago, well the outcome was she stayed and we came back!!1 So hopefully it will settle down after a while, she found school and making friends really hard, but now 4 years on shes at Uni has a great boyfriend and loves Perth, so fingers crossed it will all work out, dont cut yourself up too much about it, its hard but it will work out..
Hes only been at the school 2 weeks and the change in the teaching has knocked him for 6 its a bit ahead of where he was in UK and he was the highest achieving boy when taking SATS last year so its a bit of a worry. so to go from the top of the class to having to be told and giving extra guidance on how to do it is a bit of a confidence knock for him, fortunately its the only thing he is struggling with. Glad your daughter is happy  do you think you will return? |
