6 months in Perth

Well 6 months down and we are absolutely loving it in Perth

My 3 month update is here so I wont bore you all with retyping it but it was directly after a very hard part of our lives and it reads a tad different to how me and my wife feel at the moment.

The sudden big shock of the death of my brother has been hard to cope with but being here has definitely helped, we were both VERY unsettled for a month or so after getting back to Perth but we have been lucky enough to have met a great set of people out here who have helped us both get back on track and to see why we came here in the first place. We worry about my parents but as they say time is a healer and hopefully they will be able to move on more and more as time progresses.

Both our jobs are going well although mine is very slow to get started having to more or less start the company from scratch but its proving a good challenge which is what I came here for.

Our social scene is much better than it was in the UK, we are going out every single weekend with our friends and having loads of fun. The winter has meant we have been pretty much confined to bars and inside the house but now things are picking up weather wise we cant wait for the sun and the inevitable BBQ's and house parties every weekend.

I could gush all day long about how much I love Perth but it is proving a great move for both of us at the moment, we obviously miss our families but apart from that I dont think there is one thing I miss about the UK.

Got my wifes parents coming to visit us in 4 weeks then mine come over for Christmas and then our closest friends from the UK come over in February so we are really looking forward to them coming over and showing them our new home although we are expecting us to be a bit unsettled again after they leave.

Cant wait for the 12 month update now :D

That is great to hear. I remember reading your 3 month update which was far less upbeat.

I found both of your posts very well thought through pieces.

I am glad to hear that you are both enjoying yourselves. I am sorry about your brother.

Other posters please note, the ease of reading something in paragraphs and sentences.
