Hi
My name is Chris and I've been an acoho...I mean in Australia for 4 month on the 1st May.
I moved to Brisbane with my fiance Katrina on a spouse visa as she is an Australian and had been in the UK for two very long cold and wet years on a working visa.
About 2 month before I arrived I started applying for IT jobs advertised on Seek.com.au for the Brisbane area and only one company replied positively, most said wait until you arrive and we'll speak then, but I arrived knowing I had at least one interview to go to.
When I arrived I stayed at Katrinas' parents in Warrick while I acclimatised and late January moved to Brisbane with Katrinas' Aunty and Uncle. Without their help it would of been a lot harder, but knowing we had somewhere to live I went to the job interview. Katrina was then offered a job in a special school and the day after I was offered my current post at Teachers' union health. 3 month on and we've been accepted for a mortgage by Westpac and are moving into our new home on approx 15 May. I can't wait!!
Life hasn't been a bed of roses since we arrived, but finally it's all looking up.
