What school did your son settle at in the end? I remember all your stories about his schooling in the UK and how he couldn't settle at school in Oz to start off with.

we fly out to wa on 4th april staying with friends in beeliar till furniture arrives looking around secret harbour area wont really know till sort out jobs should,nt be bad for missus she is a hairdresser ,not too sure for me though glad you doing fine

God it's hard... Going to work is really hard when you have all this on your door step. I am also a hairdresser. I can get her a job right now lol
My other half though is having a problem securing employment. He has a job but he hasn't. They have given him the nod but not a day to start. It is very frustrating. So remember if you are coming here WA means WAIT AWHILE

Don't be doing this moving to Brissy thing with out seeing our place first though lol

Thanx for writing a great post. We are coming to Port Kennedy in 6 weeks time and i have been getting a case of the last minute wobbles just lately !!!!. ( I have been reading the back to uk threads and i dont think it has helped, although I know its good to hear both sides of anything )
But reading posts like yours makes me think we ARE doing the right thing...for us and the kids.....hope we enjoy Oz as much as you do

Love it here, just having a few teething problems but thats to do with family more than anything. We came here becasue of family. we have been to Brisbane and found it wasn't for us. We wasn't too keen on the Gold Coast too crowded but never say never and all that lol. I love it here becasue it has beaches all round and is close to the outback (lol well it's the outback to us) if you want that sort of thing. Houses are nice, people are ok. Crime is the same as everywhere else in the world. Thry still have it lol.
Where abouts are you Dawn?
