You know, I haven't been on here much since we moved over here - its taken a while to settle somewhere. Don't get me wrong........... everywhere has been great but we have tried to fit in with the childrens' schools. The one thing I know is:
I will never live in England again,,,,,,,,,,, no offence...........I know I just love it here!
We have been here just over three years and yes we have moved around a bit but even still, I don't really know a soul in this country. It has made me realise that although we all crave friendships, the important thing having you huisband/wife and kids with you. We are so much stronger as a family than I could ever have imagined.
Yes, one day I would love to have friends again, but so far this country means more to me than false friendships dirived out of purely a country in common.
If you are shy, like me, it is difficult to make friends especially when the kids are in senior school - no chance of meeting other parents! But as the old saying goes - life is what you make it - for us that means creating a successful business and be grateful we live here. There is no chance of a return to Uk for us - Australia is home!
