Here it seems to be if you're a tourist from outside of Australia you're fair game, I'm hearing almost daily reports of people being physically attacked for being British, French, German its doesnt seem to matter where from as long as its not Australia. Such a shame for such a beautiful country.

Is it not a safe place then ????? Me too don't have a white skin, i'm from South Asia. I thought Australia is a safe country and racism is minimum. Now i feel bit scared about coming to country.

Bull$hit!
I have lived in Cairns for 18 months & work in a very multi-cultural environment & I am not aware of any of my colleagues having experienced the problems you describe as occuring on a daily basis.
Try to be factual not sensationalist!

I apologise if my truth is sensationalist but thats the experience i've had in Cairns. I acknowledge that its multi cultural here but i've witnessed and heard so many stories from other visitors about being verbally and some physically assaulted for being non Ausrtralian. Thats my experience, if others haven't experienced the same thats great, i'm just being honest.

Yes white Australians and I'm also white. I'm not saying all Australians are racists or abusive, we've met some amazing people here and the majority of Australians have been nothing but welcoming to us. It just seems that theres an increasing number of younger people who seem to have an issue with non Australians, especially after a few drinks. Its still a beautiful country!
