2&1/2 year happy suprise !
G'day mates ! How are ya ?:D
For those of you who know or remember me,this will come as a suprise. Finally, after 2 and a half years, I like living in Australia !! We have our moments but have reached the stage where I can't imagine living back home again. so , quick update. We arrived in Sydney for the first time ever in Australia on 3rd Novemebr 2004. no house , no jobs, 2 kids, 8 suitcases and 10 boxes.10,000GBP to our name.On 29 th September 2006, we bought and moved into our first Aussie home. a modest 3 bedroom house, but has lovely 18ft in ground swimming pool and large yard.We have 2 newish cars, a boat, a dog and a tent.many friends and a great socail life.I am working part time in local ED as a Advanced Clinical Nurse and my husband is now Nurse Unit Manager. Our kids are settled in lovely local public school and on Monday , we finally achieved the Aussie dream and became dual nationals. We are now fully integrated SCOSSIE'S !!!! For those of you who think it's all so impossible, think again. You can do it. it's hard work and will bring a lot of heartache but you will reach a place one day in your own time ,and it will probably sneak up on you ,when you realise that things couldn't really get better, This is it and it makes me smile ! Thanks to all my friends on ex-pats for all the support you have given us - Nikkers, Phil, Jayne, Hels, bordie, soapy, bIX, pOLLYANNA , Jez,THE list goes on, you may have just posted a reply once but it helped in every little way. ALL THE BEST TO YOU ALL. Here's to "LIVING THE DREAM !!!"   Tass.X X X |

Looking to work in an ED in Brisbane on a part time basis also but a wee bit nervous as to what is expected of you. Glad you are positive about your whole experience. Settles my nerves a bit.
