12 years on and no regrets
It is 12 years today that I gave up my life in the UK and left for a life in the sun. I have not returned to the UK since departing and I can not see any reason to return in the future.
I has been a great 12 years and I look forward to many many more.

thats great to hear, I've been here 9 years Sept 1, ..........divorced and remarried in that time, going back for a holiday next July, daughter was 6 when she left and will be 16 when we go back, hubbie has never been to the UK, we have been married for a year and he has never met his mother in law!
Got No desire to live back in UK, even when my marriage went belly up and I was a single parent of 3 I never seriously contemplated going back, I cant call the UK "home" anymore, Australia is home.
Best of luck to all starting new lives here.
And it DOES take time and effort to settle down, stop comparing everything and embrace the different cultures.
