Your experiences with HSBC Premier?

I'm interested in your experiences with HSBC Premier as I'm considering migrating our current accounts and mortgages (in UK and Aus).

We have our old house in the UK where the mortgage is with Halifax that has quite a bit of equity in that I'd like to pull out and pay into our Australian mortgage (it's a lot more tax efficient), but Halifax are refusing to extend borrowing to us as they now have a policy of no more lending to expats. Slightly ironic considering we were expats at the point of applying.

Anyway, HSBC have indicated that if we get a 'Premier' account - I'll be able to access their normal UK buy-to-let mortgage range on the same basis as a UK resident.

Given the amount of ball-ache in moving our Australian bank account over, I'd welcome any experiences people have had.

Re: Your experiences with HSBC Premier?

Hi Dave My firm also does Home Loans in OZ and I have an affiliate in the UK who does Home Loans there. Basically if you need assistance in this area i will refer him to you so he can discuss your options as lending in the UK is a lot tighter now than in the past especially for non residents.

Sometimes it is easier to take what is on offer than try and stuff around trying to get a little bit better. I have PM you.
