Hi Adele and Brendon,

we are in process of getting a visa for moving to OZ, my wife will be the main person for visa, as she is a nurse.

she ahs worked in same hospital as , stroke/general, and now works as a specialist Diabetic nurse. Can you tell me is there much demand for diabetic nurses or will she just have to work as a general nurse in OZ. its just that the spec diabetic nurse would get a much better pay the normal ward work.!!

she has not got a CV sorted as yet so i can forward you it until she has done out a CV.

chris

Hi Chris

If you could send me an email to [email protected] I will reseach it for you and submit my response to you via email. What State do you want to go to? whichever one you choose I would suggest that your wife registers with the Nurses Board of that State.

Please send me your CV to [email protected], I have just recently placed another candidate in MH in Victoria. Have a great contact. Could you ensure that your CV is concise and that you have a profile page with name, marital status, 1st language, registration status, including summary of work history and core skills. Thanks and look forward to hearing back from you. Adele

I have been qualified 8 years, 7 1/2 in periop nursing. I have my degree, 4 of the modules formed the theatre course although it's not called that anymore. I'm in Ireland at the moment and struggling to get them to recognise that I have the theatre course (HSE just being tight).

Would I be able to get a job as a clinical nurse specialist, or would I have to start as RN1.

I'm looking at Rural coast, ie Streaky Bay SA, Milton NSW, Sale Vic. My research shows that these areas have hospitals with theatres.

As other posters have stated, I'm not ready to send cv's yet- still convincing husband (I've been saying that on here for nearly 3 years- but Ireland ain't what it was!!!!!)

Thanks
Moira

Hi

Is your husband definitely going to be based in Perth or would you look at Geraldton which is about a 2 hour plane trip? Send me your CV and I will have a look for you or tell you who to contact. Send your CV to [email protected]. Look forward to hearing from you. Adele

Hi BrendonE,

Do you have any involvement in sourcing Occupational Therapists, or do you know what the market is like in Australia at this time?

Many thanks

I am Australian-British, and I would love to return to Australia, where I would work in teaching, music or admin. My wife is a fully qualified Spanish nurse, and she has been working here in Spain for 28 years, mainly in maternity. She would need to improve her English of course, but are there good opportunities for her in Australia? She can't imagine that there would be.

Definitely opportunities, however, she will need to get an academic score of 7for her IELTS. Please send me her cv to [email protected] and I we can take it from there. Regards Adele

Hi Adele sorry this is a long shot, i am trying to find out the rationale for the ielts test for English speaking born and bred midwives with a degree or anyother born and bred English speaking person. Im so confused by the whole ielts test thing. A midwife i am in contact with has just told em she doesnt have to sit the test because she working temporarily in Aus in 2001 however this test only came in in 2009. Then yesterday i find my friend who wants to go to aus and train and study in university over there has been told he doesnt have to do it because english is his first language very confused !!!!! I have been successful and got a job at the monash and clayton medical center with southern health however my registration is awaiting my ielts test (sat twice ) and got a .5 less in one of the areas each time although i got an average level 8 first time and an average level 7 second time ! Any suggestions why midwves are being penalised for being English and having and English degree and are having to prove their level of English ???
Thanks in advance

Nicola x
