Mugla

Hi,
Anyone living in the Mugla district of Turkey? I live outside Ortaca, on the way to Dalyan. Hope for some new contacts in this area.

I'm thinking of Turkey in general, but how should one go about considering and purchasing a retirement home in Turkey? Thanks!

I really am the wrong person to ask that Sam. Yes we did own a property for some years and sold at the right time. Then we decided to rent and I find that is the best thing to do. It is not easy to sell properties at this time due mainly to the political situation which is not good. At least renting long term it is possible to move if you want to easily for any reason. As for being retired here, yes life is good. It is on the whole a bit cheaper than in the UK but also has draw backs like anywhere else. For me the pros outweigh the cons! It is all up to you but look at it all very careful, come and live here in rented for a year to make sure you like it. The difference in cultures do provide problems sometimes and takes a bit of getting used to.
If you need to know anything specific please ask and if I don't know I can ask around.
Good luck for the future.
