Main attactions of Istanbul & Galata? What r staying options?
 

Hi guys, I’ll be landing at Istanbul Atatürk Airport this year on 07 Feb. I’ll be staying there for 3 weeks. Can anyone suggest some good places in the city that I could visit during this period??? How far is Galata from the capital city? What are its main attractions? Any advice for staying options in both cities???

i always stayed in thearea between Sirkeci Station and the former Imperial Palace. Big choice of hotels in all price ranges. On tram line so easy to get around. Cheaper tha Istiklal Cadesi !

Galata is in fact in the CENTRE of Istanbul - on the European side

You mean good places to visit in the city of Istanbul?

1. Topkapi Palace
2. Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet camii)
3. Bascilica Cistern (yerebetan)
4. Aya Sofia
5. Covered Bazaar (kapili carsi)
6. Boat cruises on the Bosphorus
7. Other mosques such as Suleyman or Yeni camii
8. Egyptian bazaar and spice bazaar
9. Galata tower
10. Dolmebace palace

If you stay in a hotel in the Sultanahmet district, then you are within walking distance of numbers 1 - 8 on my list.
