Le Mesurier's career path from soldier, private security operator to White Helmets boss seems a bit suspicious. A lot of cash involved too. Turkey could have just asked him to leave the country.
Craig Murray is a former UK ambassador, and a reliable reporter on his blogs. Another reliable reporter is Sibel Edmonds. linked here below. I've no idea whether Erdogan took Le Mesurier out or not, but he (the latter) is no great loss to the world. Erdogan seems to be a brutal national leader, but without him Turkey would probably fall apart.
