What are the keyskill a truck driver need to have?
 
A truck driver needs:
• an aptitude for mechanics
• to enjoy practical work
• to be physically fit
• good driving skills
You also need a minimum of one year holding a 'C' Class Driver Licence prior to obtaining a Light Rigid Driver Licence.

Just browsing the the forum and stumbled across this thread. I honestly thought the thread title was a question - which I was about to answer "A driving license would be a good start"

• Responsible for proper loading and securing of freight to prevent movement and allow safe transport. Assist in loading and unloading as required.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Perform vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance before, during and after trips; responsible for brake adjustments, tire chain-ups and minor repairs as needed while on the road.
• Keep the interior and exterior of cab clean

Have the ability to function on reduced sleep due to constant engine noise, something I'm not good at :-(

We do have bunk heaters but when it drops to -35 you risk the chance of your engine freezing if you turn it off when your asleep!
