Harvesting for experience
As I was asking in another thread I was looking for ways to gain experience with my end goal truck driving full time in Canada. I'm looking into a couple of avenues now but one that came up was to get experience by doing some seasonal harvesting work in the States.
Just starting this thread looking for peoples experiences who have done this before. Did you find you got some actual rig driving experience or is it mostly out in the fields on the combine with a few days driving rigs from place to place? What were the living arangements like? Is it mostly a younger crowd that do it? best time of the year to apply? I see from reading on here though, that there seems to be a bit of a consensus that it doesn't really count as experience...
Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated.
