Hi Andy

I wonder if you can answer something thats bugging me a bit.

OH has his UK Class 1 (Artic), he has a TWP so will start work, do training and take his test for Class 1 in NS.

I have a Class 2, Rigid license in the Uk, I can't work for 6 months or until PNP is approved, but I have to exchange my license within 90 days. If I'm reading all the info, we have correctly, if I want to keep my HGV license I need to also pass my test for Hgvs' within this time frame?

Eventually, sooner rather than later, I want to get my Class 1, so if I have to pass a test to keep my Class 2 or NS equivalent, paying for this myself, would it be more prudent to go straight for my Class 1. and Am I allowed to do this without having to jump through a million and 1 Hoops?

Your'e welcome Ros, the airbrake manual looks daunting but the test is easy, 20 multiple choice questions and you have to get 16/20, it really is easy if you read the manual, not so much study it, just read it.

The short answer is take your class 1 when you get here, your class 2 is equivilent to a class 3 here and as far as i know you wouldn't be able to just exchange it.
Is Rod being trained by a company? Are you? I will pm you my email address as i could save you a lot of money.

He'll have to take another class one test, yes.
As far as I know, you have to do that in any province.
I presume his car licence is just an exchange.

I admit i haven't checked lately but unless they have changed the rules in the last 2 years, you will have to take your car test as well.
