Hi, has anyone got any up to date info regarding working for Challenger Motor Freight. I have received an invite to go to work for them but still unsure as it does not lead to PR. I was told by them that they could get another LMO when my 2 years is nearly up and stay for another 2 years. This is still really only a temporary job and we really wanted something that we could get PNP and PR. I suppose i could go work for Challenger and when my 2 years is nearly up apply to other companies in other provinces who do PNP.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.:confused:

Why would it not lead to PR, if you have an LMO and get a work permit whats stopping from applying for you PR:confused::confused: In which province will you be employed ??

Hi Gremmie, Challenger are based in Ontario and they told me that Ontario do not do PNP, so when the 2 years is up if they have more LMOs they can either keep me for another 2 years, but if they don't i will have to apply to another company or return home for 4 months..
By the way Gremmie do you know anything about Hi-Way 9 in Alberta?

Whether you are eligible for PR under it is another matter, but they do have a PNP.

Hmmmmmmmmm. I thought Challenger employed it immigrant drivers out of BC, so they could apply under their PNP system. All I know oh Highway 9 is from their web page.

Just had a look at the link you gave me and Truck Driver isn't on the list for PNP.

Truckers are to low down the order to be on Ontario's PNP, the arrogant turds:p:p

Used to deliver fuel to Highway 9 , Spoke to the shunter and a few drivers , all seemed happy enough , Similar work to TNT in the UK . Didn't know they recruited overseas drivers though.

If you are bringing family over and want to settle here avoid Ontario and BC , You need to be sure you will get PR eventually and a promise of another LMO at the end of 2 years just ain't good enough. However if your coming over for a paid sightseeing trip then there's no risk.

Challenger are just like any other trucking company ie some happy drivers some not so . I know I have seen their big recruiting bus around here so obviously they cant keep the good drivers.

I didn't say it was, but was just pointing out that there is a PNP in Ontario for the sake of anybody reading - don't want them to think the info you were given about it not having one is correct!
