Challenger

Hi all,

Earlier today i sent and email to Challenger asking about there trainee program and would they be willing to train me up there rather than me get my hgv/lgv here then retrain over in Canada.

They did send back the "standard" application form and a letter attached saying 2yrs experience etc etc

No actual email body, just the 2 attachments.

Is it really possible they would employ me as a complete novice (only 7.5t experience)?

On the letter it states 2yr WP return home for 4months, this seems to me you wouldnt be able to gain PR on a temp contract?

Should I do my C then C+E here gain the 2years then jump?

Side note there training seems to be more intense than here, or is that just me?

Really have fancied trucking for years, im in a choose my job rather than it choose me scenario, and what better way to see Canada and the Us?

Would appreciate any advice guys

Cheers

Re: Challenger

Not sure about a Canadian company taking you on without a licence, think every company is looking for drivers with a uk equivalent class 1 licence

Plus to get a temp work permit or to apply for pnp you may have to already be in the profession for the government to approve your application

Best thing would be to pick up the phone and call Challenger, no harm other than the price of a phone call

Good luck

Re: Challenger

oh and yeah a major downside to Challenger is you cannot gain pr with them

we looked at them and thought the set up look great, well that was until we realised you have to leave once your twp expires, then apply again with no chance of pr
