any advice

Hey guys,

I'm looking at moving to Canada. I only have 4 months experience as a class 1 driver, before that I was a heavy equipment operator for almost 10 years. operated big machinery on the farm etc

basically just wondering how much more experience I would need before a company would employ me? 2 years?

I've heard of certain companies who aren't the best.

Nope... it's a requirement for PR that you can prove the experience, not required to get a job offer or work permit! You may be able to get someone to take you on with only four months experience.

This has all been said before on earlier posts!

Thanks Mick, I've sent out cv' s and I'll ring a few places soon.

I seem to be having better luck with my machinery operator experience so maybe that's my way in and then look at s truck driving later on

Cheers

Having a gap in my driving trade history seems to be causing an issue for me..........
Been away from driving for a few years, as got a managment job, now I am wishing I hadn't.

Hi Steve, that depends on what type of driving you do, Long Haul yes definitely, however my OH has been out of driving for 5 years & he still managed to get placement, he has had previous experience in Canada, I don't know if that made a difference!

Try going back on agency for 1 day a week, it soon mounts up.
