I subscribe to Google Play music which includes YouTube Premium. Or maybe it's vice versa now. Regardless, it's actually my favorite streaming music servicing and YouTube Premium is easily worth the cost. I watch YouTube all the time either through a Chromecast or Apple TV. Lots of great content on there.

Logic sounds right. Not implemented this before .

I was back to seeing the colon cancer detection system (skippable) ad, at least half a dozen times yesterday.

It's 9:13am and I have just been shown my fourth (skippable) Humira (drug for ulcerative colitis) ad on YuoTube.

They really push that drug in advertising, maybe if they paid less advertising it the price would be lower, its a pretty pricey drug from what I hear.

But does seem to treat a wide variety of ailments. The ads I see are always advertising it for Psoriasis and rheumatoid arthritis.

I am still not seeing ads on youtube, my ad blocker seems to block them all.

Not a "blitz" ad, but I was just offered a (skippable) 25 minute video-ad on making a "carbon fiber epoxy table" - basically someone in a workshop making a coffee table from MDF and carbon fiber (I don't know the details as I bailed out after a few minutes).

I think I saw the same one - they did loads of cool marbling effects. It got a bit repetitive so I ended it at some point, but it was pretty interesting. Didn't make me want to buy tins of resin.

I had never seen a YouTube ad for a private investigator and "executive protection" agency, …. until today. I have now seen the ad three times!

Presumably you've been scratching your head wondering what 'browser activity' you've been undertaking to trigger that one!

Er yeah. I watch a lot of true crime/ crime investigation videos, but I have done for a year or more on YouTube, so what happened today/ recently on either YouTube or Google, to trigger the ad is a mystery..

Today am being blitzed with Chantix (stop smoking drug) ads, I have seen that bloody turkey at least seven times already (1.15pm), may be as many as ten times! …. and I don't smoke, I have never smoked, not cigarettes, not a cigar, I have never even "tried one", not even a single puff!

But now you have spread news of Chantix across BE, so they have succeeded

So a few minutes ago I was about 4 minutes into a 30 minute compilation video of TV bloopers on YouTube when the video was interrupted by an advert, which turned out to be a (skip-able, after 5s) whole episode of NBC's TV show "Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist" with a total length of 43m 31s!

I believe that this is the longest "ad" I have seen inserted into a YouTube video to date.

Adblock, my good man. Never rawdog the internet.

Unless you're on a cell phone, or tablet. I've heard the YouTube Vanced app takes care of ads on those, but have never used it because I'm 99.9% on PC when I use it. If you're on a smart TV, then use one of the other two methods and cast. Most laptops these days have an HDMI out anyway, so you can use your laptop + adblock and enjoy content without having ads rammed down your throat, into your ears and up your bum, as is tradition.

People post things on youtube that aren't what is advertised. It isn't an ad, it's the equivalent of taping football over your wedding video. Either sheer incompetence or they just don't care what they post. I've seen it; either content not related to the video, or looping segments that show the poster never checked his stuff.
