Default Are you a Tosser or a Saver?

I am a Saver!

I've been a Saver of stuff all my life. You would not know it if you walked into my house. But if you ever came into my garage…… Well …. I got one of those saved here somewhere!

Did you ever save something thinking that someday you might need it? Well that’s me, a saver. Trouble is though I can never find it when I do need it.

So this is it! I am going to change my ways and try and get one of the cars into the garage. The first pile is out in front of the house waiting for the trash man to come pick it up.

Here are the before pictures.

Hmmmm.....
I hope I don't need something that I just tossed away.

Yep!...same here....having been a British military wife and then a US military wife I can't stand clutter!,even though we've been out of the military for 16 years and settled here for the last 13 years...the 'no clutter' habit has stuck!...thank goodness!...I do tend to hold on to things for a year but if they haven't been used in that year they go to Goodwill or anyone else who wants the things...although I have got a vice for collecting fabric for making my quilts!...but even that has a chest of drawers I stripped, painted and stenciled and a big Rubbermaid box and if they're full I don't buy anymore until I have the space in those places, same with my art supplies they live in a drawer in the same chest of drawers, and,I know exactly where everything is!....hubby has the garage, garden shed and basement for his stuff...and can never find anything!!!,...I never touch any of his stuff...but still get accused of 'moving' or 'hiding' it!!...strange!!!!!!......Sophia

Definitely a tosser, can't stand the crap accummulating around me. Think it harks back to my childhood when my mother used to keep every old coffee jar and ice cream container, but when required there was never a matching lid. I have a distinct dislike for junk.

I'm a saver by nature but have tossed a lot lately; I've got rid of a lot of crap but also some nice things I wish I'd saved.

hi scott...guess i'm a bit of both....i don't like crapola all around me so put things in both lofts but then we have a good clear out...luckily we move often and so that gets rid of lots of 'stuff'.....i've got this lady coming next thurs for more 'stuff'....she's a churchy person so i give it all to her and she takes it for the church hand outs. i take lots of my clothes to a shop to sell them but now as for hubs clothes well they kinda disappear when he's not looking. ...

I'm a collector and I get sentimental attachments to nearly everything around me.

When my ex-husband used to bitch about it I told him he was lucky I didn't save all the babies' diapers!

The real problem is that I need someone to gently support me in getting rid of things and in moderating my collection habits. I will collect *anything*.

I did go through one big box the other night and cried like a baby but did get rid of lots of stuff. The difference was that I had Toon giving me a big hug. I have so many memories attached to each object -- "oh I got that eyeshadow in a makeover I had at 15!" that it's hard to throw them away. I have to focus on creating new good memories rather than clinging to the past.

I am a saver/Tosser a Savosser haha I save then get fed up of looking at it after a month so I toss it. I always think I could use that someday but someday is not soon enough.

I love your posts because you always have pics to go with your story!

Oh, and I used to be a saver until I became a mother and then all I wanted to do was simplify my life as much as possible, hence the fact I am now (pretty much) a tosser (although I don't like that terminology! ). I do have to say that it is a work in progress though.
