The way people eat here drives me nuts, you go to a high end restaurant and watch the struggle with using 2 items, a stabbing fork held in the fist, a hack at some meat with the knife then swap the fork over.............................................O MFG!! And then the whole process starts again.
I've already told my wife that if she ever sees me do that, we must return to Blighty!

I have to admit to only using a fork -- but I cook almost exclusively Asian and Middle Eastern dishes, where the components are cut into bite-size pieces prior to cooking and the meat is off the bone. Consequently, a knife seems totally superfluous (especially given the nasty habit of eating off my lap in front of the TV . . . ). However, about once a month in the winter I'll cook a roast, and in the summer I'll put a steak or chops on the barbecue from time to time, and then the knives come out and I behave like a proper Brit!

I get 8 including 2 days for Thanksgiving and 2 days for Christmas.

My wife got Christmas day (and her bosses weren't happy about that). She had to work New Year but they allowed people to come in at lunchtime if they had been partying late on New Year's Eve. So gracious...

She gets 1 week PTO a year.

I could get 8 too if we did the same, but alas we do not, even though it's been floated as an idea once or twice.
