Those were a licorice type toffee.
Lions licorice tablets...yes those are the ones. Never knew they were called Lions. Also like Pontefract cakes and Nipits.

Ignore the video it's unrelated to the article (I hate when media does things like that). Los Angeles Police Officer was injured (says bumps and bruises) when some sort of altercation occurred in the police station and the suspect wrestled a gun away from an officer, fired it, then when another officer fired back, ran and got into a car and sped away, he was caught a short time later. Suspect wasn't injured.

Re: WTF in America
Sometimes smaller city's and counties have all the corruption and drama of a big city. City Police vs County Sheriff.
https://nnmindy.com/2020/05/sheriff-...ut-lapel-video
We have a County Sheriff arrested, an under sheriff arrested, 2 city councilman arrested one of which is accused of stabbing a tenant.
Oh and the former Sheriff back in 2014 was convicted of federal charges for assaulting a local resident and is currently in federal prison serving a 10 year sentence and that Sheriff who is now in prison was/is married to a former New Mexico legislator who was in office from 1993 to 2018.

Re: WTF in America
We have had a Fire Chief sacked following a trip to Las Vegas which was claimed on expenses and a local town who sacked the Police Chief following claims by his step daughter, now according to somebody I know who taught her that sounded iffy, apparently she is a piece of work.

If you had "Flaming Zamboni" on your bingo card of crazy stuff in 2020, you win.

The red stuff is hydraulic fluid. A hose broke and the highly flammable fluid (under pressure) sprayed on the hot engine causing it to burst into flames. Why would anyone rush to the scene of a fire where someone is possibly burning to death? Maybe to see if he needs help, but there's no telling what motivates some folks.

The "Flaming Zamboni" sounds like a great circus act. Needs an extra word like "Marvelous" or "Stupendous" tacked on for added drama.
