Here's the example I was referring to, both recent and specific regarding shooting someone in the back repeatedly and being released on bail.

Bail is irrelevant, almost everyone gets bail in the US, "innocent until proved guity" 'n all that.

In the particular case you cited, the video showed the target turn and fire something at the officer - there was a flash visble in the video. Therefore I suspect there is a high probablity of the officer being acquitted, at least of the most serious charges, which will probably spark more riots.

"Feaster was being held in lieu of $500,000 bail and his next court appearance is set for July 9."

He doesn't appear to have a lawyer and invoked his right to remain silent so police haven't been able to speak to him yet as he did ask for a lawyer.

That's probably a good move. It's safe to say the union will provide a defender and he'll enter a not guilty plea.

Probably one person who maybe shouldn't carry a gun in public.

Good thing for her the lady she pulled the gun on didn't come up with her own and shoot her dead. Rule #2 is never point a firearm at something you don't want to kill. I wonder how this will play out in court.

Virginia Beach firefighters were “pushed and kicked” Monday night as they attempted to treat a man gravely injured in a motorcycle crash near the city’s Oceanfront, officials said.

Some in the crowd who gathered at the scene then followed an ambulance to a hospital, where they “began to jump on, kick and hit multiple EMS vehicles” parked outside, according to a fire department daily briefing filed afterwards. The violence, which a Virginia Beach EMS spokesman said damaged one vehicle, prompted Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital to lock down its emergency room to visitors for several hours.

The incident began shortly before 9 p.m. in the 900 block of Atlantis Drive, near the Atlantis Apartments complex off South Birdneck Road. A man riding a motorcycle apparently lost control and crashed into a tree, police said in a news release.

Multiple firefighters arrived at the scene and were attempting to treat him when a crowd began to form. Some of them angrily questioned the firefighters about why it took them so long to respond, said Max Gonano, president of Virginia Beach’s Professional Firefighters Association.

According to fire department records, the crew arrived six minutes after the call was received by dispatchers.

Statue of Jeffrey Epstein mysteriously appears in Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- A bronze statue of Jefferey Epstein appeared in downtown Albuquerque Wednesday.

It's not clear who created the statue, or why it was placed in front of City Hall.

Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller said he didn't know who was responsible for the statue. It was removed Wednesday morning.

A plaque on the statue said it was provided to "Bernalillo County by the Antlion Entertainment Art Collection."

Sounds like from the limited reporting and lack of comment by the police that she hasn't been charged, but police took a report.

Looks to be a minor offense in Michigan according to this blurb from the Washington Post.

"Brandishing a firearm in public is punishable by up to 90 days in jail, a $100 fine or both, except in cases of self-defense or to protect another person."

Brandishing a firearm means "waving it around", or even just showing it/ allowing it to be seen (which can bite people who have a legitimate concealed carry weapon in a holster who then have their jacket ride up or flap open revealing the gun for example when they bend over or reach up). However "pointing a gun at someone", which is reportedly what she did, is much more serious and is commonly punishable as a class of assault. .... Add in the race dimension to this incident in 2020, and I suspect that this woman is going to regret pulling out a gun.

What "reportedly what she did"? Didn't you watch the video?
Unless we get video and witnesses from when it started as they entered, then inside the restaurant, it's a lot of she said/she said. The woman with the gun looks like a Grade-A freak in the parking lot video, and pointing it at anyone without a darned good reason should get her disarmed. As I said earlier, if she'd picked a different person to point it at they might be holding a memorial for her now.

I think it's great because there are so many artists and artist groups in New Mexico they can probably even cover up who and wherever did the casting, which considering the size is amazing.
