WTF in America

Re: WTF in America
Just another excuse for a pressie Daughter of a friend had her first baby not long ago. From the time she found out she was pregnant to now, she had:
A baby shower.
A babymoon (yeah, I know)
A gender reveal party
And - she sent a nice little note just before the baby was due, kindly letting everyone know that she'd set up a gift registry at a swish department store 'to help all our wonderful family and friends who are wondering about suitable gifts for our little newborn!'.
Frig off, I gave you a bib at the baby shower, I'm done.

What on earth is a babymoon when it's at home? Who goes away with whom?

OK, so I googled it, and how ****ing first-world entitled is this shizz:
"A babymoon is a vacation you take with your spouse before you have your baby – usually in the second trimester. It's the last hurrah before baby enters your world. A tropical vacation is nice, but you can also do a staycation."

So that's what we Brits call maternity leave with a dirty weekend thrown in.

See SOS's post and weep. Like I said, it's all about the presents, although in this case it's the expecting couple's present to themselves. In my day........no, I won't get started

Navajo women make the best blankets in the world, but in every one they intentionally make one wrong stitch, just so they aren't seen to be pretending to be perfect.
