That would have been a much better choice for all concerned.

Which is what one would have expected, anywhere remotely normal

But that might require putting a smelly person into the back of your squad car....

That's why they have the plastic seats back there, so they can hose it off when they get back to the station.

Should be worth a bonus?

Pregnant mother refused travel on Disney cruise
An expecting mom from St. Louis says she’s unhappy with how the staff at Disney Cruise Line treated her family after they were denied entry to the ship.

Emily Jackson, who is 25 weeks pregnant with her third child, had flown with her family to Miami to board their cruise on the Disney Magic, due to leave on a 6-day trip to the Caribbean. But upon arriving at the port of departure, Jackson claims she was not allowed on the ship because she “missed the pregnancy cutoff” of 24 weeks, despite providing the staff with a note from her doctor.

Just thought if only she was from Essex

Or New Jersey.

Obviously missed an earlier part of the conversation but that Disney lady laughing at them at waving from behind the glass appeared bang out of order. 24 weeks seems a ridiculously early cut off date for a six day cruise.

I assume that they have the same 24 weeks for all their Cruises. Now does not seem unreasonable to me, is there a longer norm in the cruise industry.

If you can fly international up to 28 weeks, and possibly to full term internally, I fail to see why you can't sit on a boat on water after 24. That's stupid - imo obviously.

Disclaimer - you generally not you specifically

I probably had Carry on Doctor in my head and was thinking a plane could divert in a few hours and a ship could take days and that might be a factor.

A quick look suggests 24 weeks is pretty standard.

Disney’s Rule about pregnant women is no different to every other cruise line. She should have read the terms and conditions...it’s her fault her kids have been disappointed. Now she’s complaining about armed guards...I feel a law suit coming on.

IMO it is not stupid...it’s not about sitting on a boat. What if there is an emergency with the pregnancy? Cruise ships have a medical department but can only perform minor surgeries. A cruise ship is often a day or more from land...planes are usually a few hours at the most. Air lifting a patient from a ship at sea is dangerous.

This will be due to the potential risks involved, and there needs to be a cut off I imagine, rather than just banning all pregnant people. From 24 onwards a premature birth is possible and complications become much more serious to both mother and child. Better to have an unhappy mother to be on or near land than a couple of day off at see with limited medical support should the worst happen. The longest International flight is 17 hours non-stop, still not ideal if you get into problems, but far less risky than being on a boat. Even then they advise against it for planes, which in most cases could be diverted to a landing within an hour or two on most routes.

That 17 hour flight is mostly over land, just the India to Australia bit would need a diversion.

She was slagged off on YouTube, looks she sees herself as an Influencer...

An Atlanta charter school is under fire for conveying blackface masks while reciting a historic African-American poem that symbolizes black oppression.

Second-graders on Thursday held up blackface masks in a reading of 19th-century author Paul Laurence Dunbar’s poem “We Wear the Mask" as part of the school's black history program, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The performance at The Kindezi School at Old Fourth Ward is now facing criticism from the community and parents who have questioned the masks' context.

According to a widely shared Facebook post, which was reported by the Journal-Constitution, one parent said that "Kindezi Old Fourth Ward has to do better."

Sounds like an American version of the Black and White Minstrels Show.
