WTF in America

Re: WTF in America
And another pet-related thing: Doesn't anyone put their details on their pets any more? Facebook is nonstop "I've found a dog/cat with no ID" and "I've lost a dog/cat with no collar". Growing up in the UK, every animal I knew had a collar with a tag and phone number on it.
I don't understand why anyone in my neighbourhood even bothers with cats unless they like to feed the coyotes.

Mine is chipped and has his tags and county license. You go the the County Jail to get his license, judging by the number and comments I have had it is not common.

Stealing someone's new credit card wouldn't work either since it needs to be activated from the owners home phone.

I never had a cat that would tolerate a collar, they always found a way to remove it, so cats I have had never had tags.

"Mr Scalise was shot in the hip"
"used a belt as a tourniquet"
Doesn't that just mean he was wearing a belt?

No, it means the man who ran out to tend to him after the gunman had been shot down took off his belt and used it to slow the flow of blood. He gave an interview. On tv he said Scalise had a flesh wound in his leg that he tried to stop the bleeding from, and the Washington Post says he also received pressure to stop bleeding from a chest wound.
