Yes indeed they did..I got one, but I still opted out, nothing in junk mail I need. But junk mailers are getting sneaky and sending things normal mail now to get through, but still not near a level of what you'd normally get as junk mail.

The USPS can be the source of most of your junk mail if you let them. The U.S. Postal Service makes money by selling the information from change of address cards to private businesses. This is how national list brokers, credit bureaus and others may get your name in the first place.

I completed the change of address form with the USPS once and soon found out i had a whole bunch of junk mail addressed to me just days after i moved into my new house. The second time i moved I didn't let the bastards know and i got very little junk mail.

WTF indeed! As long as the state is still collecting its sales tax why the hell should they care whether cars are sold though a dealership or direct to the customer?

In other words - "you never know what might happen to that nice new car of yours if you didn't buy it through a dealer and purchase the extended warranty ...."

Yes we've had this thread before, he blamed the Republicans for their pension requirements on USPS which is true, but it is also true that USPS in their own right lose money.

Which is why I came up with the attachment, to illustrate the point.

But anyway as far as stopping it, this is no minor task in the US. You can contact DMA at www.dmachoice.org and put your details in, but this doesn't stop stuff addressed to "resident" etc. With those you have to contact the sender directly.

It happens because the bulk rate in the US is low and USPS does "make money" out of it when viewed in the context of that rate alone but if they charged more to dig them out of their other losses there would a lot less of it floating about. In essence your taxes subsidize the delivery of it.

Can't help thinking that some of the Republicans who imposed the pension requirements secretly thought this might stop the delivery of junk mail.
