Re: WTF in America
This isn't really out there too much, but kind of interesting at least to me...
2 houses in San Diego's La Jolla area, they sit in a very expensive area over looking the ocean.
Built in 1894 they have spent the last 40 some odd years sitting and rotting.
Story behind them here: https://www.lajollalight.com/news/sd...101-story.html
What they look like:
Both are listed as both national historic buildings as well as state historic buildings, they are the 2 oldest buildings in La Jolla still standing.

I am not quite sure how I missed this story which was mentioned on NPR this morning, not often you come across a meth attack squirrel story. Florida says 'nice one Alabama'.

Re: WTF in America
However, this is all getting a bit contentious for the Trailer Park. Here's some more - um - out-of-this-world news from Pascagoula, Mississippi:
A historical marker has been placed near the river where two men in southern Mississippi said they were abducted by aliens in 1973. News outlets report the city of Pascagoula dedicated the marker Saturday at Lighthouse Park. Charles Hickson and Calvin Parker said they were on the shores of the Pascagoula River when what appeared to be aliens pulled them onboard a UFO, examined them for about 30 minutes and then returned them to Earth. Both reported the event to the sheriff’s department and were checked out at a hospital after it happened Oct. 11, 1973. The story has become known worldwide. Parker published a book about the experience in 2018. Hickson died in 2011. Both said many people doubted their story. A few witnesses have come forward to corroborate some details.

Re: WTF in America
As the WTF thread is rather more for black humour topics , I have moved both the abandoned baby and the reparation posts into threads of their own.
Cheers.
Cheers.

Alabama could do with a Robin Hood type figure to help quash it's medieval outlook!

Last week I saw a woman drop a bread roll on the supermarket floor. She picked it up with her hand and put it back on the shelf.

PHOENIX – A group of police officers were reportedly asked to move or leave a Starbucks coffee shop on the Fourth of July because a customer felt uncomfortable.
According to
, six Tempe Police Department officers were drinking coffee before their shift at the Starbucks near Scottsdale and McKellips roads when a barista told them a customer "did not feel safe" by their presence.
The barista allegedly asked the officers to move out of the customer's line of sight or to leave, the tweet states.
"This treatment of public safety workers could not be more disheartening. While the barista was polite, making such a request at all was offensive. Unfortunately, such treatment has become all too common in 2019," the organization wrote. "We know this is not a national policy at Starbucks Corporate and we look forward to working collaboratively with them on this important dialogue."
