WTF in America

Re: WTF in America
Was your deductible $500? If that's the outright cost it sounds about right so hardly worth claiming, but the older ones should be getting cheaper as time goes by. When they outlawed the good butyl stuff for installing them a lot of the independent guys stopped doing it so it's hard to find someone putting in windshields on the side. I priced out a windshield for a 2002 Windstar a few years ago and couldn't find it for less than $400, even in the US, but I suspect I could find one now.

The ICBC coverage includes windshield replacement, so only had to pay the $200 deductible though. (normal deductible for the policy is $300 but ICBC has a lower one for windshield.) Repairs to chips and such are $0 deductible. Provided one has the optional comprehensive insurance coverage.

When I was calling around for MIL the quotes I was getting for a Mazda 2 in Vancouver were $400-$600 cash price if self paying. The ICBC coverage includes windshield replacement, so only had to pay the $200 deductible though. (normal deductible for the policy is $300 but ICBC has a lower one for windshield.) Repairs to chips and such are $0 deductible. Provided one has the optional comprehensive insurance coverage.

Florida man has got such a history behind him that it is now a thing to Google Florida man and your birthday - and then post the story you like best from that day!
