Brazil is -4, your -7.

Kick offs will be 12 midday, 3pm and 6pm, right?

No AZ is currently -8 because we don't do DST. (Right now London 12:37am, Rio 8:37pm, Phx 4:37pm)

Ian Darke is doing a lot of the commentary. He's certainly doing the England games. One of the best in the business IMO. He used to do a lot of the boxing commentary for Sky. I shall be watching the build ups from the UK just to get a daily update from the UK camp, but I'll be watching ESPN during the actual game.

ESPN schedule with commentators....

It's not that bad lately. Certainly, NBCs commentary on the BPL was pretty decent this last season.

I can't believe you actually think ITV's commentary is good . I have memories of enduring World Cups full of Big Ron and Kevin Keegan talking utter, utter shite.

I also just hate ITV, though.

Barclays, right? I've been overexposed to it. I should just continue calling it the First Division out of bloody-minded resistance-to-changiness

Honestly I've never cow-towed to the whole sponsor thing... it's the ENGLISH Premier League I'm not old enough to remember the old First Division, I was 7 when the PL was formed.

It's overexposure to the term on NBC. I unconsciously absorbed it

I was 13 when it was formed, I remember being cynical about it even then.

Commentary is crap...random adverts thrown in the middle of the game during throw ins, or ticker tape stuff going over the score info box and stuff.

Their app is also pants and keeps dying on Android and is only marginally better on iOS. Works great when no one uses it, but big sports, it takes ages to buffer up before crashing.

ABC app doesn't even do live streaming to my location.

I'm basically sticking to wiziwig site for live and vpn/beeb for replay of matches I miss, like the England opener....because the missus is having her company summer do on that same moment. A problem when the boss is Brazilian and schedules these things around Brazil games. Pucker.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I dislike American's commentating on football matches. The coverage NBC provides in terms of commentary - wisely using British commentators - is excellent.

Agree with you re ITV, but compared to the American Fox Sports commentary team they are world class. I do wish that both Andy Townsend and Mark Lawrence (such a total sarcastic tosser) would be ditched by their mutual employers.

The old First Division was the 'Barclays First Division' if memory serves me correctly. Barclays has always been heavily involved with football.

Oh, I forgot it's ESPN covering the World Cup, not NBC. Oh well, I can put up with the American commentators, I just remember that it could be Big effing Ron ...

A co worker told me during the 90's the US channels/networks just took the BBC feed for the commentary when ?there was less interest in the tournament. Guess what we have now is classed as progress
