Doesn't look like we have a BJs in Illinois unfortunately .

She's eating a lot of those Gerber 3rd foods now, and they're only 79c each, and we have coupons coming out of our arses for those! So much easier now she eats our food though - set her up in the high chair and you're done

We just found out that our plan doesn't seem to cover Sydney's kidney ultrasounds for some reason and we have a $520.00 bill all of a sudden that we shouldn't have had to pay for.
Doesn't sound right Is this something you/your wife have through work??

I know $520.00 doesn't seem like a lot but that's nearly 3,200 nappies, or 750 oz of baby formula . . .
$520 is a lot of money, ffs!!! Maybe there is a cap on what they pay out for ultrasounds ??

It's an employer plan. We have the same employer but different plans (she has her and the kids with a deduction from pay and I have an employee only plan for me, which is free). For the most part it is a decent plan but that was unexpected. We might be able to fight it, or it might be a mistake - that has happened in the past because apparently our medical group our shite at submitting bills to the insurance companies

We'd get a new plan but my wife had the audacity to inherit high blood pressure from her great grandparents or some other relative so our rates would be through the roof. How dare she have DNA - the nerve . . .

Who knows. However you look at it, keeping the current system and decrying any talk of universal healthcare as 'socialism' is hardly helping anyone. I never get sick, but God forbid I get in a car wreck and the insurance company decides they won't cover the treatment. It's a sad and sorry state of affairs in supposedly the richest country in the world when I'd be better off dead in a situation like that.

It is If you broke your leg and had no insurance you'd probably be looking at $10,000 out of pocket It's not right ...

If you were able to get away with only a broken leg. Serious car wreck with extended stay? You're looking at bankruptcy, easily. Like I said, if I get in one, and our insurance doesn't decide to cover it, I'd be better off not making it through at all. Then it's only $15,000.00 for a funeral and not $100,000+ to pull through. Disgusting.

Luckily for me most of my treatment lately has been dental, and we have a good dental plan. Just had a root canal/crown done and paid $900.00 out of a total cost of over $3,000.00.

Still stupidly expensive for a fancy cleaning and a little ceramic cap but it was bloody agony

Had my teeth cleaned this morning. Cost $215.00. That's a lot of money for a simple procedure if you ask me ....

We have to drive 50 miles to the nearest dentist that charges what our plan will pay. The biggest employer in town has a really generous dental plan and all the local dentists appear to charge exactly what it will pay.

But it's not price fixing, apparently...

but on the positive side, at least you are one of the few that does have dental coverage. There should be universal dental coverage as well, as least for kids up to the age of 12 or so.....
