On UK TV she used to watch QI, but binned that when Stephen Fry moved on and handed over to Sandi Toksvig.

I find that Sandi injects far more panel participation, and that QI has really moved on rather than it being "another Stephen Fry show".

I sort of like the guy (on TV, but not his books), but he's recently tried to get bigger than he needs to be at this point. Trying too hard, too soon...
I didn't know she'd taken over QI. It's been ages since I saw it though, usually I only catch it on Dave or something when visiting the UK (though BBC America did run it for a while back there).

I do like Stephen Fry though (and his books ).

This is going back a long way now but I first saw Sandi Toksvig on a saturday morning show called No73 back in the mid 80's. It was a fantastic show especially the Sandwich Quiz they had at the end each week. She was really very funny.

Edited. found an old clip on youtube

I wondered how I'd managed to grow up in the 80s and not hear of that show, but I looked it up and saw it was on ITV. I was usually watching BBC on Saturday mornings, so I never saw it

I was aware of it but it was also every so slightly before my time (I was 3 when it ended) so I doubt I ever actually watched it.

Chris Tarrant hosted that? I quite enjoyed that - I'm a bit older than Sultan...

Hang on, was Sally James on Tiswas as well?

I'm a big fan of Taskmaster, it's probably the only show I've watched where the US version is almost as good as the original.

Just finished the second season of "Jack Whitehall:Travels with my Father". I don't know who is funnier, Jack or his dad.

On the flight back from UK I saw two episodes of 'The Man in the High Castle'. Was definitely intriguing; certainly an interesting premise (Germany/Japan won WW2, divided the US between east and west). Is it worth the investment to keep going?

I loved the first two series. Whether you enjoy it depends upon whether you subscribe to the dystopian Philip K Dick vision of the future (the series is based upon one of his books) or prefer the shiny bright Star Trek type version. The alternate universes (a Dick speciality) can be a little confusing at times, but I find it fascinating.

By the way, when this thread started I thought it was more of a “true confessions” type thing to admit to sneaking a peek at Snoop on Jokers Wild or something, as opposed to a serious TV discussion!

I pay for Sky in Italy and get 95% American TV. At the moment I wait for new episodes of "90 Day Fiancè." I love to see who's a Green Card Troll faking it and who might really be in love. I'm cynical about all of them.

Oh my god, that show is such a trainwreck it's great

My wife and I got sucked into the current run of 'before the 90 days' a few weeks back, they're all certifiable.

Another one just came onto my radar, thanks to my new found cable provider. The series is Outcast, I've watched six or seven episodes, so far so good.

I love 90 Day Fiance, I hardly watch any tv but I never miss that. Even better than the show itself is the Facebook page, with the bitchiest comments section I've seen in ages.

OMG ... Man In The High Castle is quite the treat! I'm midway through Season 3 now, watching 2-3 shows a night. It must be a wet dream for all the neo-Nazi's out there - uniforms, symbols, images of Berlin 'how it would have been', New York with dirty-great big Nazi symbols all over ... then we have Mengele and his experiments, Edgar Hoover as head of the 'FBI' for the American Reich... It's interesting that the "American Resistance' is portrayed very poorly, and you get to feel sympathy for the main Nazi family (Smith). Definitely worth plowing through the first season, which can be a bit slow at times.
