What will America be like in 20yrs time?
 

Greetings all, I am expat based in NZ and was discussing with my young daughters what the world was like 20 yrs ago. Which lead us to wondering about what NZ would be like 20 yrs from now. And it was a subject that left me a bit afraid for the future, the more I thought about it.

So, all you expats, out in the US of A, living the dream in the Shining City on the Hill. What will the USA be like in 20 yrs time?

Business as usual. The Brits will be taking over Orlando, Florida, California and North Carolina. The Yank in the palace will try to rally her acting community to petition to have her made Queen. Fat cats will be fatter. The poor will be poorer. And I'll be dead and laughing at it all from my perch in the clouds.

If Trump gets his way there will be no more cheap foreign imports, crops will be rotting in the fields as there will be no foreign labor to pick them which will result in mass automation with many jobs being performed by robots. The social security system will collapse because citizens will be taking out money in retirement but it won't benefit from the tax revenue from undocumented workers who don't draw on social security. But apart from that, everything will be fine.

Not much different then from today, just 20 years older, might be a slight change in policy but I doubt anything too drastic will happen.

It'll either be like the society in The Running Man, with a gilded elite living in compounds, while the proles live outside in poverty, or it'll be still the remnants of what it is today.
America was good while it lasted; before it was destroyed and undermined from within by "progressives", social justice warriors and Useful Idiots.

There could be some "universal" basic income because all the service jobs, driving jobs etc went away. Lots of leisure time.
