What I've learned (In a nutshell)

1. If you want to experience something else then do it.
2. If you don't like it then move on.
3. If you end up back where you started then no harm done.

Any arguments?

None from me.
So everything we need to know in life we really did learn in Kindergarten, or reception class?

Not at all. Life's a learning process. We make decisions, have experiences based on those decisions, learn from them and make new decisions based on what we've learned.

Still living, still learning.

Agree.

It’s better to have done something and failed, than to have done nothing at all and succeeded!

Spot on. We learn something from each experience in our life and sometimes we learn even more from the perceived mistakes- even if they occurred as a result of good intentions such as emmigrating....

Great quotes :) I find this one reassuring

It’s better to have done something and failed, than to have done nothing at all and succeeded!

Thank you

Agree entirely with everything everyone has said. Once, someone told me, we do everything for either a reason, a season, or a lifetime (actually he said this about being with a person, but it applies to experiences also). We have no control over which. And that's OK.

Except, perhaps, to your bank balance. Can you ever put a price on experience, though? Guess not.

Having said that... I stand to lose almost a lifetime's worth of savings (not a vast amount) if my move to Canada goes wrong.

Sometimes you have to take a gamble, too, maybe...

Like you, I could lose money (moving back to UK from USA), but that's nothing new, and though I hate the thought, and am always looking for ways to not do it - again But, bottom line, can't take money with us when we die, and it's only paper after all, it will be recycled
