Re: What gig are you going to?
The Zombies played a free show last Sunday, and I'm really disappointed in myself for not going irregardless of how terrible I felt.
RJD2 on the 12th
The Rural Alberta Advantage in October looks like a prospect.
Also just found out about Nas and O'Death doing shows in October and Mac Demarco in November.

Elvis Costello
Was a bit worried that this would just be nostalgia, as I am most familiar with his first three albums and thats over 30 years ago. I thought that he might not even bother with the old stuff, but there was plenty, Detectives, Pump it Up, Olivers Army, and the best song ever by anyone Alison. All the stuff I was less familiar with sounded great too. Nothing sounded old fashioned or dated, a tribute to his writing, it is all timeless. He is a real elder statesman of song writing.

We haven't been to a gig since we got here - although been to lots of sport.
First gig is going to be Five Finger Death Punch over in Newark at the start of October.

N1cky and Penguinbar - DJ Shadow and the Cut Chemist (turntable DJs) were playing a bunch of records from Afrika Bambaataa's record collection, so it was a history of hip hop told through their skills on six turntables, music that was old on the scene even when I was in it, back in the day. Hubby is an old school hip hop fan. Great to see a bunch of middle aged ravers jumping up and down in Charlotte, the crowd was pretty diverse, someone even started breakdancing
