What do you stock up on when visiting UK?

I'm going back to the UK in a few weeks for my sisters wedding, spending 10 days there.

I always use this time to stock up on the items that i somewhat miss since moving to the US.

For me:

Cadbury's Fingers, Galaxy ripples (the gf goes crazy for these) Custard creams, Twinings extra strong tea.

and a jar of extra large marmite for my friend, i hate the stuff.

I find that alot of my US friends love this chocolate too and it doesnt last long before it's distributed between my friends!

Anyone else regularly do this on trips back to UK?

Why Ibuprofen and paracetamol? And how can you stock up on them when they are only sold in tiny amounts compared to the giant bottles you can get over here?

I live in Italy where they are very expensive. How to stock up? keep going through the tills at supermarkets- it's time consuming but amusing. Tesco, Ibuprofen 96 pill box about £2.
Also I get my family to collect packets of them before we make a UK visit.

Oh, I see - sorry, assumed you were living in the US....

Yeah .... I confess to regularly bringing US ibuprofen to the UK. 500 x 200mg. In fact I think there's an even larger container you can buy.

The only thing I bring to the U.S. from England is tea.

I agree, I can't be äř§ed to be hauling a suitcase of empty calories back from the UK. We might bring some chocolate, a couple of packets of biscuits, and some Jamaica Ginger and McVities Golden Syrup cakes. I have brought tubes of Primula cheese a couple of times. The only "must bring" food item for me is one of my mother's home-made fruit cakes. :)

Tea for me too. It's light and, if you toss out the box & put the teabags into plastic bags, very easy to pack....

Also the little dispensers of tablet no-calorie sweeteners, whichever kind is cheapest, Sweetex, Canderel, store brands. (Don't know WHY they don't have these here in the US! So sick of the wasteful paper packets.)

Lemsip & those vitamin C+zinc dissolving disks that come in the tube.

A lot of stuff is available here, like Marmite, Heinz Salad Cream, biscuits, HP Sauce, Ambrosia Devon Custard and Rice Pudding, Sharwoods curry sauces, Branston etc. - at least it is around my way or within a short drive (Publix international aisle)!

It may be expensive, but not as much as a plane ticket! I once brought a couple of giant jars of Branston back because they were on sale in Asda for two quid for two!!

Heinz salad cream, Heinz curried beans and Sharwoods curry powder, Battenburg cakes, Scottish heather honey. I think that's about it, as I can't bring back what I really want to because of their rules on meat products, and I've not seen mealie puddings on sale here, and it is not white pudding as I tried that thinking it was the same. I eat it as often as I can when I'm over there.
