It's an alien invasion. The beings from outer space enter our atmosphere by stealth and slide inside bell peppers, where they lurk until such time as an incautious cook cuts open the pepper and releases them.

Unless there is something wrong with your camera, I would ditch the pepper. It is not only the growth inside I don't like and have never seen before but it is the white spots on your cut pieces that I don't like.

Yeah I threw it away, because if I am unsure about food I throw it away.
