I don't know if this should be here or "Pet Peeves" as it did happen in Walmart. I picked up 8 things in Walmart the other day and went to the 20 and under checkout as there was a line at self checkout. A pair of 20's girls was in front with a cart full, a lot more than 20 items. I said this line is for under 20 items. We've got less than that, they said. What happened to learning math. Went to a different checkout and got through way before the ignorant biatches.

I've drive all over the US and when I feel sleepy I sometimes pull into a Walmart parking lot and take a nap. Sometimes HomeDepot, sometimes fast-food restaurants. No one's bothered me yet. But I drive a pickup loaded with equipment. Some of them even have free WiFi accessible in the parking lot.

Another thing Wal Mart seems to get are bomb threat. My local store had a couple this year and my sister just said she was in the store by her in the Phoenix area and they had one and had everyone leave.

With the amount of stores they have, guess the loonies find it an easy target.

Actually, that's kind of nice.... Like a Starbucks where vehicles can hang out for hours & no one hassles you, plus wifi too.

I guess they hope that you'll come inside the store at some point & buy something.

I recall reading that those Walmarts which are close to Canadian border crossings encourage it. Certainly do in Maine, and it's the same story in Moncton - there's usually a few parked in the Wal Mart / Mall parking lot.

It makes sense. Certainly the walmarts I know the parking lot never gets full.

Only when a NASCAR driver is meeting and greeting perhaps it's a little busy.

Of any store Wal-Mart overbuilds their parking lots. Even the ones where no overnight and RV parking are allowed have more spots then they would ever need.

But again it may just be using the land until needed, one store not far from me used maybe 10-20% of the front half of the parking lot to expand the store. Buy more land then the store needs for future development maybe?

they have to have so many parking spots per store square footage, but don't ask me what it is.
