Re: U.S ban foreign visitors who have been to China within the last 2 weeks.
The US is not permitting foreign nationals to enter the US if they have been to China in the previous 14 days, and US Citizens returning who have been to China in the last 14 days have to go into a CDC mandated quarantine. People are still free to travel from the US to China, but there are restrictions on returning and if a foreign national they are denying entry if the airline even allows you to board the flight.
US also has China on a level 4 travel warning, do not travel and warning US Citizens they may not be able to provide consular services in China.

So all you need to do to avoid being denied entry under the corona virus travel ban, is to spend 14 days somewhere else after leaving China and before attempting to enter the US.
The National Law Review lists the following exceptions to the entry ban:
- U.S. Citizens and Lawful Permanent Residents;
- spouses of U.S. Citizens and Lawful Permanent Residents;
- parents or legal guardians of U.S. citizens or permanent residents, provided that the U.S. citizen or permanent resident is unmarried and under age 21;
- siblings of U.S. citizens, provided that both are unmarried and under age 21;
- children, foster children, or wards of U.S. citizens or permanent residents, or prospective adoptees;
- air or sea crew members (C or D visa holders);
- A and G visa holders and NATO visa holders;
- certain individuals traveling to the United States at the invitation of the U.S. government or in furtherance of the national interest; and
- those “whose entry would not pose a significant risk of introducing, transmitting, or spreading the virus, as determined by the CDC Director, or his designee.”

I suspect the best thing to do is just keep the tinfoil hat on at all times thus removing all logical possibilities of contracting the Corona virus...

What have you been smoking? There is no mention of a 5-10 year ban, or any ban at all, in anything I can find, certain people are not allowed to enter at the moment, that seems to be about the beginning and the end of it, and it only applies to people who have been in China in the past 14 days before entering the US.
So all you need to do to avoid being denied entry under the corona virus travel ban, is to spend 14 days somewhere else after leaving China and before attempting to enter the US.

Just practice good hygiene. Something which perhaps in China they are not doing. And maybe it helps if you have had a flu or pneumococcal vaccination aka the "pneumonia jab" which maybe older and pre-existing medical condition people in China may not have access to. But a lot of older people over in UK and I am sure in America and other western countries have had it.

But when a visa holder is denied entry isn't there a 5 year ban from returning?. I have seen it on american border force so I know that there is. And weren't all those Chinse people removed from the Anthem of Seas last week deported from the United States after being screened and cleared of having Corona virus? 4 got kept in hospital the other were transported to the airport and "returned home" was the words used not deported. But it sounds like they didn't have a choice in leaving?
[2] Not everything an immigration tells you is true .... they are actually allowed to lie to you, and you cannot rely on anything you are told - there was actually a US Supreme Court ruling on that point. The first time I entered the US I was told I was "not legally allowed to get married while in the US on a VWP entry", but that is most certainly not true, but I am not sure if the immigration officer was lying or ignorant of what US actually says about marrying on the VWP ... which is later exactly what I did!
[3] Being denied entry is not the same thing as being deported - if you are deported then there likely will be some sort of ban on returning (could be 3 years, or 10, or exceptionally a life-time ban), and probably a ban from using the VWP/ ESTA too
[4] If you are denied entry you may be told that "before you return you will need a visa", but that may or may not be true (see [2] above)
[5] If you denied entry there may be an electronic note made of the circumstances, which may affect your future admisability to the US.
[6] Further to [5] above a note may also be made in your passport, which may include a reference to the regulation under which you are being denied entry, and may, or may not have any bearing on whether a US consulate will issue your with a visa
I am not sure if I have addressed everything wrong with your post, but given that my rebuttal to the content of your post is already at least three times longer than your post, I think that says a lot about your understanding of what you are talking about!

Just imagine how this whole affair would have panned out if the US had been the originating country, can you imagine the hoo-ha at even the mention of a curfew...

That bad part of this is the pneumonia situation. Maybe the so called pneumonia jab which a lot of older people get in england once in their lifetime offers some type of protection from the worst aspects of the virus. Let see the death rates in UK if this country hits 45000 cases. There has been a sharp jump in deaths overnight and infections.

China's population is around 1.4 billion*. UK's population is around 66.5 million. Your hypothesis doesn't make sense.
* just in case.......1 billion is 1,000 million.

And you think there is no way this country will hit 45,000 or 60,0000 cases of this virus. It will eventually.

Nobody knows how many have died, I certainly would take any Chinese figures with a bucket of salt.
