I have recently seen this 6 part mini series of "The Night Manager" which cost the BBC 18 Million Pounds to make and stars Hugh Laurie and Tom Hiddleston (who many say should become the next James Bond and I personally think would be a good replacement for Daniel Craig).

It is brilliant, outstanding. I loved every minute of it, my spouse loved it and so did all my family and friends in England. (I watched it in Switzerland where I get some Brit TV channels).

It premieres on the AMC TV channel in the US, beginning on Tuesday 19th April.

Do try and watch it. Actually, don't miss it!....the fabulous settings (Zermatt in Switzerland, Majorca, Cairo, Istanbul, London) are a real treat....but it is a suspense drama and has excellent reviews.

Highly recommended!

I agree it is good viewing. Hugh Laurie was excellent IMO. The Night Manager has already been mentioned in the UK TV thread.

I loved it. I wasn't entirely convinced Hiddleston could be a good Bond but now I am in full agreement.

I was really looking forward to it after all the great reviews and a recommendation from my Mum. Was somewhat disappointed - I found it watchable but not outstanding, personally. Will tune in again next week and hope it gets better! In the mean time, there's always GoT

Amazed me one of the main channels didn't pick it up, way better than you usually get on a cable channel. Will certainly watch the remainder of the series.

It's definitely a grower, I was a bit meh after the first episode but it rattles along in a very silly but satisfying manner afterwards

Just finished watching the first episode on demand and it was okay. Will watch the second of the 6 parter next week and see if it gets better. Seemed slow and unexciting. Thought Hugh Laurie was finished with acting and going to only devote himself to his music. Guess he changed his mind.

I don't think there is anything to compare on US TV...with the one off dramas and mini series that UK TV air. Saying that I do enjoy many US TV series.
