TRAIN ADVICE
 

I have bought a virgin train ticket for the 6th Oct as i was going to spend a day at a friends after flight from OZ but now I want to get the train the day I land how flexible are they.Should I just board the train and hope for the best or what?:)

It depends what kind of ticket you bought. As a general rule, the cheaper the ticket, the less flexible it is.

I use this site an awful lot when planning train travel in the UK, and it should be of some assistance, as it explains the restrictions on all of the different type of tickets.

Speaking from the UK as someone who used UK trains a lot when I was at uni just hope for the best that the train turns up on time or as near as dammit, or that it turns up at all. :rofl: No guarantee that either will happen. Listen very carefully to the station announcers but there again, there's no guarantee you will be able to make head nor tail out of what s/he is saying anyway. I'm glad that I now have a car to go everywhere. On the Continent trains are a dream. In the UK a nightmare.
