hmmm not true, I have 3 actual contacltess cards and I use all of with Apple pay as well. The only issue with using them in place of an Oyster is there may be international fees/charges with each tap in and out where as an Oyster Card would be a one time deal (assuming you don't refill).
If using the Uber route, and there are 5 of you, just request the larger car
