None of my US cards are contactless, but my UK ones are.

It's OK, even if they didn't catch him, Jack The Ripper is most likely very dead by now. I don't have the stats, but I'd hazard a guess that the reporting of knife crime is just a bit more news worthy today. My brother lives in deepest darkest Peckham, its fine, it's even got some coffee shops and Craft Ale Pubs.

We're taking my parents to see Hamilton for their 50th wedding anniversary this summer.
They're mid-seventies. We'll be coming in from Loughton, Essex on the Tube.
Any tips for traveling safely on the Tube? This'll be on a Saturday night. The tabloids (and the crime statistic themselves) make it seem like London's in the midst of a violence epidemic.
Will there be a lot of drunk people?

Make sure you all have Oyster cards (bought from any corner store), if contactless cards aren't on hand. The only thing safety-wise I would say is. especially with older passengers, and it might seem obvious but: don't rush. The only time I've had oopsies on the Tube is if somebody I was travelling with thought they could get in the carriage even though the doors had started beeping to close. Just wait for the next one.
The drunk folks are harmless!
Hope it's a good trip for you all.

hmmm not true, I have 3 actual contacltess cards and I use all of with Apple pay as well. The only issue with using them in place of an Oyster is there may be international fees/charges with each tap in and out where as an Oyster Card would be a one time deal (assuming you don't refill).
