Default Time Traveller's Wife trailer....

I don't know if any of you have read the book, I loved it at the time.
I just saw the trailer for the movie which is out on August 24th, I'm getting choked up already! *sniff*

Have never read the book, but would be a good read I think!

Who is the actor playing the male lead?

I can't wait for this. Hope it does justice to the book . A great read, just takes a little while to get to grasps with but well worth it.

Looks soppy, irritating mumbling man. The book was OK with a few plot faults.

I couldn't get into the book at all. Don't think I'll bother too much with the movie although Eric Bana is hot

Sorry I had to put the book down after reading about 1/3, the literary device of the constant time shifting was quite confusing. Also I really disliked the main character Henry who came across as a dirty old man. The passages where he meets Claire age 6 and he muses on making love to her later in life, and when he describes wanking a younger version of himself, were stomach churning not romantic...bleurrgh.

If you're into time travel read Doctor Who FFS. It's the same with that POS Ken Follett and his horrible books. 'Pillars of the earth' has ridiculously graphic rape scenes that are totally unnecessary to the plot. The contrast with good modern writers of the medieval period like Sharon Kay Penman is startling. Oprah's bloody book club has a lot to answer for.

I have had the book on my "To-Read" list for a while, but haven't got around to it. Me and a friend are going to read it next. I saw the trailer a month ago and knew what it was straight away without even having read the book. Don't know what that says? Anyway, I want to see the movie, but i'm one of those people that prefers to read the book first, so i'll see if I read it in time. I was actually a bit disappointed to see the trailer, which almost always gives too much away, before reading the book, but oh well!

"Pillars of the Earth" was recommended to me by a friend. May have to give that one a bypass then.............yes, I agree about Oprah's book club. Some of the recommendations are just not something I would want to read
