To a child or the mother? When you have a passle of healthy children, what more could you want? People congratulate them on what their doing (I've watched the shows a few times) yet what are they doing? Isn't there more merit in helping children that don't have a home or a family? Especially after you've had your own children?

About Little People, Big World, I watch it as well. It was sad to see the mother almost start crying because of their issues. Seems like money doesn't really help these families in these reality shows. What a shame.

I watcheed the Roloff's (little people) tonight and they seem to be a bit happier together, but the last few episodes Amy has started to sound like they are growing apart and she doesn't know what the future will be like, together or not. It is sad, they always seemed to have a good relationship, like they actually liked each other.

Lisa, I hear what you are saying about the Duggars, but I don't really think that they would stop having their own children, until she stops having her cycle. They don't believe in taking contraception, so they would have to stop having sex (the way the hubby is, that aint gonna happen!)

The other point you make about other children needing loving families, is a fair point, but the Duggars believe 'their' children are a gift from god, so they may not feel that they should stop accepting those gifts to give other children a home. I realise that their lifestyle is odd to most of us, but it's a lot better than some.

Though if you're the doctor and your pregnant patient has had 5 or more C-sections already then I guess you've got little choice but to do another one.

Ozzidoc, do you know what the max number of C-sections recommended by the ACOG is?
OK, so I spoke with the senior Attending today. (A perinatology specialist at Stanford Hospitals.)

She says that they advise an absolute max of three C-sections. However, she also says that there is no good evidence on the safety of higher numbers of C-sections, as few people have four or more children/ongoing pregnancies today, let alone 3 x C-sections. ie - the studies cant be done.
