We've already ordered gift baskets for the woman who took him in, our neighbor who helped look for him, and a sheet cake for the local police department with a dog on it and a note "Thank you for helping to find me".

Did I ever send you that fruit basket linky? http://www.ediblearrangements.com/
Since you're the gifty kind.

That's *very* thoughtful of you to acknowledge your great neighbors and town cops; I like your style, lady. :)

Will check out the link - thanks! Plus it's the least we could do. I have my Monte here with me now thanks to them. :)

Monty had an adventure didn't he. He met up with some nice people and now he knows where to go when he gets loose again. Dogs never forget good and kind people or where the next dish of food and water are.

So glad to hear that everything turned out well for the three of you.

Well I learned something interesting a few minutes ago. A girlfriend of mine became a police officer about a year ago. I spoke with her a few minutes ago and I asked if our station would be able to accept our sheet cake. She said, as long as it comes from a bakery, etc. no problem. Citizens bake them items at home and bring them in all the time, and those they don't risk eating for safety reasons.

She also advised that we find out when the officer who helped us is on duty, as his cake won't last long once it arrives. "Cakes, sweets, we like them all. Even doughnuts, but we won't admit it." she said. ;)
