It's just a general salutation, I'd aver.

Probably comes from years of dictating letters and memos etc.

You know I actually agree with that statement that guns won't always make you safer.

cos' three of the places your statistically likely to get shot - school/mall/work, concealed carry is not allowed, ya gun won't keep you safe locked in your car.
