Syria
Seems Obama et al are quite keen to throw a few missiles in Syria's direction.
So the questions are: 1. What will a few missiles do to impact the overall situation? Pun intended. 2. Why? Too much Old Not Used stock? |
Re: Syria
1. May tip the balance of power. The rebels have achieved a lot without air cover or much in the way of heavy weapons.
Any attacks will presumably go against command and control centers, so expect a few bunker-busters to be dropped on the likely locations of the world's most reviled ophthalmologist. 2. On the contrary, it's probably not old stock (surely most of the Vietnam era stock was used up in Iraq and Afghanistan). It been a few years since we had a nice air war, so it's time show off the boys', and girls', latest toys that have been developed over the past eight or so years! :D |
Re: Syria
So more a R&D opportunity?

Re: Syria
I started a thread yesterday in the "take it outside" forum and think the west might be being played as at patsy.

Re: Syria
Are China and Russia not firmly in Assad's camp?
Nothing like a good old globe-encompassing conflict. It'll be like the good ol' days. |
Re: Syria
Intervention in Syria just might be a Versailles moment. It is poor form to stomp on your opponent when they are down.

Re: Syria
Nobody is that bothered, personally this seems an ideal replacement for the Iran Iraq War - Happy Days.

Re: Syria
I'm confused - are Al-Qaeda the good guys or the bad guys in this one?

Re: Syria
Degrees of badness all round.
