Hi, you may remember we had our E-2 visa denied. I am now back in the UK - and have everything up for sale in Florida.

Our Florida drivers licenses ran out at the end of January - obviously I cannot renew them.

One of our employees was stopped by the Police yesterday as the car is in our names - and it flagged that the car was owned by someone with a suspended drivers license.

I cannot transfer the cars into someone elses name as we still owe on them. Does anyone know what I should do?

AFAIK, you don't have to do anything. However, you might want to draft an explanatory letter and get it notarized, and have the employee keep it in the car. It is not illegal for a car to be owned by someone whose D/L is suspended, and as long as the employee has your permission to use the car, it is not illegal for him to drive it.

Expired is not the same as suspended.. why are your DLs suspended?

DL are only valid as long as your I-94 is ..

After calling Tallahassee this morning and waiting 40 minutes in the queuing system I have found out that our drivers licenses are not suspended they are expired. I explained the situation to them and there is nothing they can do.

When I come over at Easter I bet I get arrested for driving on a UK License - I need to make sure I carry my passport with my visa waiver in it!!

If its expired you just renew it ...
The same as all the snowbird B-2 visa holder do ever year
and it will be valid again until the end of your I-94 again ..

I think they must have changed the rules here recently. I just renewed my FL license. My I-94 is valid until 2010, but they only renewed it for one year - and it has 'Temporary' in big red letters printed on it......
